Austin's $15B Infrastructure Decade

Some of Austin's biggest public and civic projects are moving through planning, construction, or redevelopment all at once.

The numbers are massive:

• ~$8.2B for Austin Light Rail's first phase
• ~$4.5B for I-35 Capital Express Central
• $1.6B for the Austin Convention Center redevelopment
• $13M for the first phase of Congress Avenue improvements
• 118 acres in the South Central Waterfront district still waiting to become one of Austin's most important redevelopment zones

Taken together, these projects show how much of Austin's future is being shaped by the investment back into the city's infrastructure.
