The Founder's Austin Tech Week Guide

Austin Tech Week returns October 26-30, bringing thousands of founders, investors, and operators together for five days of workshops, startup pitches, and networking across the city.

Formerly Austin Startup Week, the event has been bringing Austin's entrepreneurial community together since 2011. This year's headquarters is STATION Austin at 701 Brazos Street, with additional events happening throughout the city.

There are dozens of sessions to choose from. Here are five we'd prioritize, depending on what you're looking for.

1. Best for fundraising: VC Reverse Pitch

Wednesday, October 28 | 11 AM-12 PM

What if investors had to pitch founders instead? At VC Reverse Pitch, investors from firms including LiveOak Ventures and Moneta Ventures get three minutes each to explain what they invest in, what they look for, and how they help portfolio companies. A useful opportunity to learn which investors might fit your startup before reaching out.

2. Best for learning: Mucker Capital Founder Bootcamp

Tuesday, October 27 | 2-6 PM

Mucker Capital's founder bootcamp covers three challenges nearly every early-stage founder faces: finding customers, building a fundraising pitch deck, and staying accountable. The afternoon wraps up with networking.

3. Best for meeting founders: No Deck, Just Trek

Wednesday, October 28 | 9-10:30 AM

Not every useful introduction happens at a conference. No Deck, Just Trek brings founders, investors, and operators together for a casual networking walk along Austin's hike-and-bike trail. The group meets at Mattina Coffee before heading out. No presentations, just conversations.

4. Best for discovering startups: Morrison Foerster Pitch Day

Wednesday, October 28 | 2-4 PM

Six emerging startups will pitch venture capital investors, showcasing technologies across robotics, AI, transportation, and cloud infrastructure. Stick around afterward for the reception to meet the founders and investors.

5. Best for networking: Austin Startup Crawl

Friday, October 30 | 5-9 PM

The Austin Startup Crawl closes out the week with dozens of startups showcasing their products alongside entertainment, drinks, and networking. It's an opportunity to discover new companies, meet potential customers, and reconnect with the Austin startup community.

Before you go

Register for Austin Tech Week here and explore the full event schedule. Badge access varies, some satellite events require additional registration, and space may be limited. Pick two or three events that align with what you're building, and leave room for conversations between sessions.

You never know which introduction might lead to your next customer, investor, or business partner.
